I believe that education is valuable to all students acroos this nation. We should continue to fight for the rights of teachers and students. Additionally, we need to vote in politicians that stand for the rights for education. Stand up for education!
From the NEA RA. You have a lovely voice, very inspiring. Your messages as NEA Vice President are even moreso. Thank you for your dedication as you continue to speak for public education. -Helen Riley
NEA needs to adjust how business is conducted. The loss of 10% of our membership should put up red flags that would signal a change of what we are doing in order to entice members to join, rather than what is happening. That is going to take a great effort of our leadership to come to grips with this endeavor and stop the bleeding. It’s not just the right winged whackos as many are accusing that is depleting the membership..
Lily you have been MY inspiration since I met you at the RA in Chicago last year. As a single mother of four boys I didn’t think that there was much I could do to give back to the NEA. Talking to you last year changed that for Me!!! You encouraged me to start SMALL and work HARD!!! And I’ve done just that by volunteering in any way I can in my community. Thank You for showing Me I DO make a BIG difference in Education !!!

NEA and all Unions should do a better job at educating new teachers. Our younger teachers have no idea of the struggles, battles, and dedications of how unions originated. If we education people about the processes it will make for better understanding. It is a shame of how corporate America, is buying out votes and education. Where is America going? It’s scarey!!!
I aways enjoy your humor at the RA. Keep it up.
I admire your committment and the hard work you do promoting education at NEA.
I admire the work you do at the NEA promoting Public Education. Your love and dedication shows in this organization.
It’s refreshing to know we have sisters in the trenches. Aloha.
I’m a first time delegate at the NEA RA. I have really enjoyed my experience thus far and have learned a lot about how business is conducted at NEA. I admire the grace and professionalism you displayed during the RA.
I attended the Learning Forward Conference in Denver this past week. I am a 3rd Grade Dual Language teacher in El Paso, Tx. I had the pleasure and honor of listening to you speak to us. You certainly moved me with your passion for “those blessed children”. It reminded me as to the reason that I became and educator. I want to thank you for your compassion, your emotional passion and your commitment to our profession.
You have rekindled that fire in me that had dulled a bit, once again thank you so much.
