American Education Week Recap

This past week, November 16-20, we celebrated the 94th annual American Education Week. This weeklong celebration of public education gave us the chance to spotlight the importance of ALL the individuals who make a difference in the lives of students and ensure they receive a great public education.

We all know how important teachers are to students, but equally important are the security officers who greet them as they enter school, the cafeteria workers who feed their hungry stomachs, the custodians who keep the schools clean and safe—and the countless other paraprofessionals, education support professionals, parents and educators who play a role in the education of our children.

I want to thank each and every one of you who participated in this year’s American Education Week and hope that you continue to celebrate the great work of all these individuals all year!
